You Are Here Alan Gillies' House of Music
IN HER EYES
words & music by Alan Gillies
She's like a breath of fresh air, or a summer breeze,
She knocks me off my feet, she can bring me to my knees,
This doesn't happen to me every day,
But still it happens ev'ry time she looks my way;

In her eyes, I wonder how I look,
Does she see right through me, can she read me like a book?
And once in a while, when I see her smile,
You know it comes as no surprise;
I wish I could see myself in her eyes.

I see her walking down this lonely street,
Is my heart breaking, or did it simply miss a beat?
I'm sure she only sees me as a friend,
But when she's near me, it's not so easy to pretend.

In her eyes, I wonder how I look,
Does she see right through me, can she read me like a book?
And once in a while, when I see her smile,
You know it comes as no surprise;
I wish I could see myself in her eyes.

And sometimes, I stare at her number, for hours before I call,
And when we're all alone, does she sees me at all?

In her eyes, I wonder how I look,
Does she see right through me, can she read me like a book?
And once in a while, when I see her smile,
you know it comes as no surprise;
I wish I could see myself in her eyes.

And once in a while, when I see her smile,
You know it comes as no surprise;
I wish I could see myself, in her eyes.
